BEIJING , April 10th, 2012 – Koram Game
Checkmate is the new and exciting, action-packed World War II strategy SLG from Koram Game. Checkmate has been developed with realism and player involvement in mind, which is why you’ll find historical military leaders, over 30 different World War II tanks and artillery units and infantry troops, included in the game. All this is set against a vivid and visually captivating landscape, to add even more realism and to take you as close to the front lines of history as possible.
With the “Campaign System” in Checkmate you can battle all over Europe on a variety of historical battlefields from World War II, including “The Siege of Leningrad”, “The Battle of Stalingrad” and “The Belorussian Offensive”. On these battlefields you can attempt to defeat the NPC whilst gaining valuable combat experience and rewards, moving forwards in your campaign for victory.
Perhaps the most intense feature in Checkmate is the “City War” feature, in which players can battle to take control of the cities in an attempt to conquer and complete their unification of Europe. Once a player has developed their “main city” to a certain level, they can then occupy and control “sub cities” by attacking and conquering the NPC held cities on the map. The other exciting aspect of the “City War” feature is that players can unite in a combined effort to conquer and occupied those cities on the map that are currently occupied by the NPC.
Success in war can often boil down to who your allies are and Checkmate is no different. The “Legion System” in Checkmate allows a player to form alliances by creating legions of which they are the commander or by joining a legion. As the Legion Commander a player can appoint deputy commanders, admit and remove members, change the legion’s badge, send legion invites, send group mails and disband the legion. And with battles based on legions it is crucial to choose your legion wisely, the wrong decision could be the difference between a glorious victory and a devastating defeat.
As well as these exciting game systems, there is also Checkmate’s “General System” that gives the players the opportunity to customize and increase the attributes of their military leaders through the “General Interface”. Then there is the “Equipment System” that can help a player to improve his attributes by gaining equipment. The equipment including; weapons, uniforms, medals and vehicles, can be earned through campaigns and also purchased from the Armory. You can also upgrade your technologies (of which there are 12 in the game) through the “Technology System”. Finally there is the “Mission System” where players can take part in various different missions including; “Growth Mission”, “Alliance Mission”, “Legion Mission”, “Daily Mission” and “Event Mission.
With all these great features to engage the players and the variety of different in-game systems to Checkmate is a game that promises great depth and detail, bringing the strategic thrill of the battlefield to your web browser.
