ACE Online is an action based Massive Multiplayer (MMP) 3D Flight Shooter, players can pilot their own fighter ships, on a futuristic world where they can upgrade skills or the Gear itself.
In ACE Online, gamers have full control over the Gear’s movement, making it very different from the traditional style RPG’s mouse click control method. This is a Role-Playing Game (RPG), but with all the fun and action of a First Person Shooter (FPS). Since the background is based in a space 3D atmosphere, players need to be aware that an enemy missile can strike at any time and from any direction.
You can choose from 12 different characters and 4 types of Gear (fighter ship) with unique characteristics and styles.
Lots of the traditional MMORPG features are present, such as quests, fight enemies and players, skills and equipment improvement as you progress and level up. Additionally, you can select a GEAR from one of 4 available types, customize it in countless ways by changing the equipment, upgrading the individual parts themselves, or even replacing the armor frame, drastically changing their looks.
These GEARS or fighting aircrafts have their own specializations that affect the very core of how you handle them. The I-Gear is the Interceptor, capable of high speed flight and hit-and-run tactics. The B-Gear is a Fighter/Bomber that is very versatile but can pack a powerful punch. The M-Gear plays the support role by repairing and empowering its allies. You can also choose a ground unit, the A-Gear, that is equivalent to a tank and destroys it’s foes with its powerful cannons.
The world of Phillon, the planet in which ACE Online is set, acts as a stage for the nations of Arlington and Bygeniou to battle for supremacy. You are free to explore the alien world, take on missions, or join the constant, ongoing nation war where massive Outposts and Motherships are at stake. When you reach level 10 you can choose one of this two nations.
Overall Ace Online is a fast paced action packed sci-fi flight simulation for flying fans.
